I’m a mom, watercolor artist, designer, & a little bit of everything in between. I’m a Mama to 2 wonderful kiddos. I love painting with my little ones and by myself. It’s crazy how much kids open your eyes to new creative avenues. In my free time you can find me dancing to no music, being silly with my kids, and trying my best to enjoy this crazy thing we call life.

Hi, I'm caitlin!

Why Purink?

Why Prints?

When I was little, I didn’t know that there were names for different shades of pinkish purples. So, I combined the words Purple and Pink and came up Purink. I used to mix colors to make different shades of pinkish purples. I think that’s one of the reasons I love watercolor so much. It’s so easy to mix colors with watercolor! It’s such a great tool for teaching kids about colors!

I cannot tell you the amount of people that I have said, I wish I had your talent or time to create things. Well, it definitely always that way. It took time and LOTS of practice. I tried different crafts throughout the years but, would quickly lose interest because there was a lot of creative freedom in it. In 2022 I decided it was time for me to be more than a mom who is always at the doctors with her kids. I became obsessed with coloring with Copic markers. I found my creativity again and it felt great! Big downside? After months of continuously learning more about how to work with Copic markers, I learned that Copic markers are lightfast aka they fade over time. Maybe you are like duh but, I definitely did not know this. Between how fast I’d run out of ink and the fact that the art I spent endless hours creating would slowly fade over time, I wanted to find a new creative outlet. I came across watercolor and I instantly fell in love. However, I’m not somebody who wants to recreate the same thing over and over again… I would get bored real quick. So, I started investigating how to make quality prints. There really wasn’t a clear answer… At least that I could find at the time. After piecing bits and pieces of information together, I finally figured it out. I remember being so elated my first print. It was stunning! I was like “wow, I did this!” That’s when I knew I wanted to be able to share these pieces of work with people. After all, I didn’t want to put hours into creating something for only one person to enjoy. This way a limitless amount of people could enjoy it! And that’s where art meets accessibility
